Day 1

Pick up your motorhome and head for St Andrews 1 hour 20 minutes away.  Well known for being the home of Golf, however, it is also the location of a superb beach.  This is a popular beach with many opportunites for the visitor.  Choose one of the many campsites in the local area for your overnight stay or simply park up near the beach, go to bed with the sound of the sea and wake up to a stunning sunrise.

Day 2

Head North to Angus where you will find Lunan Bay and St Cyrus.  There is also more golf to be found here with the world famous Carnoustie course.  Arbroath in Angus is also the place where the Scottish nation was born.  Enjoy the coastal walks and visit some fishing vilages.  Auchmithie lies at the head of a 150 foot cliff, with its old harbour at the base.  Visit the village of Aberlemno and its ancient Pictish stones.  You cannot come to this area and not try an Arbroath Smokie, a world famous dish.

Day 3

Around 3 hours 30 minutes North will see you arrive at Findhorn.  The Findhorn Sands campsite is a very good base.  This is a beautiful long beach where you can walk for miles.  You will find the Findhorn Foundation an interesting visit.  The ancient city of Elgin with its grand cathedral is only 8 miles away.

Day 4

Head South West to Fort Augustus, a 1 hour 45 minute drive.  This route will take you along the banks of Loch Ness.  Look in on the Nessie Visitor Centre and the Caledonian Canal lock gates.  Urquhart Castle is also close by.  Stunning views of the loch are to be had from the visitor centre veranda.  Choose one of many campsites as your base for the day.

Day 5

From Fort Augustus head West for 1 hour 30 minutes.  You will travel through the Great Glen and follow the railway line of the Hogwarts train.  This brings you to the Arisaig area.  Some of the best and hardly used beaches in the country.  Here you will find Camusdarrach and Silver Sands.  Some of the most spectacular sunsets are to be found here.  A very peaceful and tranquil area.  Stunning views to the small islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck.

Days 6 and 7

Further tour this area and visit either of the beachs of Kentra or Sana Bay, (the furthest point West on the British mainland).  The beach at Kentra will take 1 hour to walk to.  However, it is well worth the walk to enjoy the acres of silver sands.  Start your return journey by heading for Strontian and the Corran Ferry.  Once across the ferry, head for Crianlarich.  Make your way to the Loch Earn area where you can find a campsite for the evening and empty your waste.

Day 8

The journey back to Greenloaning is now just a 30-40 minute drive.
